We value your interest in our work. We approach your project with the highest level of professionalism.
After working over the years in different studios around the world, observing the pros and cons of how these places function, we came up with our own recipe.
We offer our services purely on appointment. We prefer an approach where there is no intermediate between our clients and the artist. You will get in direct contact with the tattooer that will make your idea come to life, benefiting straight away of the full attention and advice needed for your project.

How do I book an appointment? To make an appointment you first need to request a consultation. There are two ways of going about this: 1.- For people interested in getting tattooed at OD Tattooing, but don't know and/or don't have a preference on a specific artist: This is very easy to do, you need to fill in our contact form found on the bottom of each page on the website or simply use the CONTACT button found in the main menu. We will gladly help with any information and/or advice regarding choosing an artist and setting up an appointment. 2.- For people interested in a specific artist at OD Tattooing: In case you are looking for a specific artist and know who you'd like to get tattooed by, please visit our ARTISTS page, select the artist you prefer and send a request for a consultation through they'r personal contact form. This way will be faster when it comes to processing your request since it doesn't have to go through the studio's management. We usually set up a consultation appointment to have a meeting prior to the tattoo appointment where we can discuss and get a better understanding of what your project involves and discuss your ideas, placement, size, complexity and everything else regarding the future appointment and possible questions you might have.

Do I need a consultation before my appointment? We highly advise a (FREE)consultation appointment for almost any projects we take in. The majority of our work consists of big projects that require multiple sessions to accomplish. Since the tattooed area is usually a medium to large surface, wrapping around the body part desired, we do consider it's important that the artist gets to see skin area and the anatomy of the body part. Another important aspect can be the composition and details included in the design, areas that can be described and discussed the best in person. The only time we do not need a consultation for an appointment is when the desired design is a small symbol or text that does not require to much alteration. In any case, during our initial contact we will advise on the necessity of a consultation appointment.

How to choose an artist? Witch artist is the right one for me?We welcome you to get acquainted with our artists and their work. You can visit our ARTISTS page and discover the different stylistic preferences and styles we approach. Even though our portfolios might look very similar, each one is very different form the other. It is very important that your preference in design, elements and aesthetics matches with the work of the artist you choose. Don't have a preferred artist? No problem. We are more than happy to help you make the best choice for your desired design and aesthetic.

Does it hurt?Yes, it does. Pain is relative to every individual and varies depending on the body part you chose to get tattooed. From our experience, for the large majority of people even the pain of a full day session isn't too much of a problem. If you consider yourself on the least pain tolerant side, we have to mention that the tattoo sessions will be tailored to each and everybody's capabilities and needs. Our goal is for you to have the best experience possible when it comes to your tattooing session.
-
Can I bring friends and/or family with me?Of course. Your new tattoo can be a very exciting time and we very much understand that you would like to share the experience with a good friend or a loved one. Tattooing is a very delicate process that requires focus and concentration. Because we want to deliver the best result, we kindly ask that you come accompanied by no more than one person. A calm, leveled atmosphere where our artists can do their work without any disturbance is very important for the outcome of your tattoo.

In what situation I wouldn't be able to get tattooed?A new tattoo, especially a session consisting a few hours will put a strain on your body. To ensure your comfort and proper healing post session we can only tattoo you if in a good state of health and if the appropriate aftercare instructions can be respected. You can not get tattooed 3 - 4 week prior to a sunny vacation. Sun bathing is very damaging to a tattooed area that hasn't had enough time to regenerate. Even though healed, the area of the skin that was damaged is very sensitive and can not provide the proper protection against the intense UV rays. This will be equally damaging to you new tattoo as it is for your body. Even though swimming would be possible just after the area is fully healed, this could be as early as 7 - 10 days after the tattooing session, if swimming would be accompanied by direct sun exposure we advise you abstain from exposing the tattoo to such an environment. The sun exposure in water can be even more damaging than sun bathing. You can not get tattooed if you follow an antibiotics treatment. The antibiotics treatment should be completed at least 3-5 days before the tattoo session. You can not get tattooed if you follow a cortisone treatment. You can not get tattooed if the desired area shows signs of eczema(atopic dermatitis) or any other kind of rash or skin condition. You can not get tattooed if you're pregnant. New moms should have weaned before considering a new tattoo.

Do we tattoo fingers and/or hands? We highly advise agains finger tattoos. It is very important to understand that a finger tattoo will never look so delicate and sharp as mostly any other tattooable area. A new tattoo will look good, but after the tattoo is healed the outcome can be drastically different than any other tattoo on your body. There are instances where the tattoo partially or completely fades away leaving the area looking "dirty" and inconsistent with other tattoos you might have. Hand tattoos are less problematic than the fingers but still one of the most difficult when it comes to healing and maintaining consistency and saturation. Our hands being the main tool we interact with our surroundings, the healing of any wound on our hands takes a lot longer and is more prone to damage from our daily activities. It is especially difficult for someone engaged in physical work and less than clean environments. If you still wish to get such a tattoo, it is possible, but only if some visible areas of your body are already covered. It is very important that you understand that it is very difficult to respect the aftercare indications for such a tattoo and you already have experience with the healing process of such an area.

Do we tattoo the neck and/or face?Yes we do. But... A tattoo on the neck or face will drastically change your appearance. Such a decision should not be take lightly. We are willing to execute such a tattoo if the person shows a considerable area of tattooed skin on their body and has considerable experience with getting tattooed. As much as the choice has to be accompanied by someone that understands what they're doing, the areas in discussion are very sensitive and accompanied by considerable discomfort during the sessions and throughout the healing process. Only a person that has enough experience should even consider these areas.

What are the costs of getting tattooed? The price for a tattoo in our studio in The Hague can vary greatly depending on the size, complexity and the difficulty that the skin and the client pose. Because of the complexity of tailoring a design for a specific area and person we can only give an estimation about the costs once the design is discussed and agreed upon during a consultation appointment. Our starting price starts at €90. This base price is established considering the base material expense for making your tattoo possible. Assembly and dismantling of the necessary tattoo equipment, cleaning, preparing of the station, sterile materials and consulting, components necessary to any tattoo session irrelevant of the size and complexity of the design.
-
Can I cancel my appointment?Of course. If you have to postpone or reschedule your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible of the change in your availability. You can do this by preferably getting in contact with your artist through the established channel of communication or by contacting the studio through phone at +31(0)643 62 69 26. We value and approach our appointments and clients with a great deal of respect. We would greatly appreciate the same attitude in return.

How old do I have to be to get tattooed? The minimum age to get tattooed is 18 years old. According to the Dutch law, anybody older the 16 years old can get tattooed if accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian. Even though legal, we will consider this request very seriously depending on design and placement of the tattoo. We strongly discourage tattoos for people under 18 since your body is still developing and there are serious concerns that the tattoo might go through some serious changes until the adult body is established. We want to protect younger customers against a regretful decision selecting a design that might not appeal to an older self. We will not perform any kind tattoo for people under 16 years of age.
